I don’t know the specific statistics, but I am pretty sure 90% of women are born with a shoe addiction. It may seem ridiculous, but just think about that feeling, you know the one. You get it when you see the pair that will go perfect with a dress you probably don’t have. They don’t match anything in your closet. And yet you still got them. Its problematic. We need help.
With so many options to chose from, it can be hard to decipher whats a justified purchase and whats not. So I have curated a list of 10 of the most iconic shoe styles. Shoes that will stand the test of time and actually match the clothes in your closet. Yes, all of these shoes are expensive. Its heartbreaking, I know. But that is why they are classics.
1. Maison Margiela Tabi

Tabi’s are thee cult-classic shoe. These shoes were the epitome of the girl I wanted to be when I was 12 years old on tumblr. They may take an acquired taste, nevertheless these are the most innovative classic and they speak for themselves. Do not let the camel toe fool you, they are comfortable enough to wear throughout the day.
2. Chanel Slingback

These shoes were first shown in 1957. Over 60 years later they are still in production. This alone says everything. They are such a hit due to the versatility. You can pair them with jeans and make them casual, or you can wear them with a dress for a more elegant look. While they are an investment, they can be justified since you can literally wear them with anything.
3. Christian Louboutin So Kate

The So Kate emphasizes the curve of a foot like an Hervé dress does a body. The arch of the shoe and the low cut, very narrow toe box are the reason why the shoe makes the foot look so sexy. Some shoes are meant for walking, and these are not. They fit into a category I have labeled ‘walk in and sit down’ shoes. Still a closet must have.
4. Monolo Blahnik Hangisi

Im not here to judge, but if you don’t know why these are a necessity, I do not trust you. Hello? Carrie Bradshaw? The shoe proposal? Yeah, these are those. Sex and the City isn’t the only reason why these are a classic. That buckle! It’s ethereal, regal, iconic, to say the least. You need them. Trust me. You can dress them up or down. You could even wear them with your birthday suit because they are so beautiful no one will ever notice.
5. Gucci Loafers

Loafers in general are a staple shoe. The Gucci loafer is special because it has found a way to stay not only relevant, but innovative throughout the years. While I wouldn’t suggest buying loafers lined with fur, or embroidered snakes, I do think they are very fun. The classic horse bit leather Gucci loafer is my favorite style and they last at least one lifetime. They may take some time to break in because of the hard leather but once they are worn just enough, they feel like they were made just for your foot.
6. Stuart Weitzman Nudist

We have all heard the term ‘Strappy Sandals’ these are thee strappy sandals that everyone is referring to. Quite possibly the most duplicated style. These shoes are the representative for simplicity is key. They will never go out of style. They are perfect. Stuart Weitzman is known for a comfy heel. The brand has carefully engineered shoe last that are designed to caress your feet. This makes these the perfect option for a night out that involves a lot of walking.
7. Jimmy Choo Anouk

I know what you’re thinking, and yes they do look very similar to the Christian Louboutin So Kate’s, but they are different. The good news is they are more comfortable. While they have an almost identical silhouette, the Anouk covers much more foot than the So Kate while still giving you that sexy toe cleavage that we want in a pointed toe pump. And let’s face it, you could never have too many pumps. They are the reigning supreme.
8. Yves Saint Laurent Tribute

First created in 2004 this shoe is still in production after two new creative directors and a whole new brand name. Yves Saint Laurent, YSL, became Saint Laurent under new direction and this shoe still has the YSL monogram in the insole. It is a testament of time and should be owned by every fashion girl. The platform is a plus for comfort and they can be worn from day to night.
9. Hermes Oran

This shoe came on the scene in 2008 and it has finally reached its fame and glory. It is duplicated by many fast fashion brands but there is nothing better than authentic Hermès leather. The price even escalated due to its high demand over the years. Slides are all the rave in this new age of fashion. Comfort and durability are very important. This shoe captures the essence of luxurious comfort and its a must have.
10. Valentino Rockstud

It should be no surprise that these shoes have made the list. When they were first shown and everyone wanted them. No one thought they would still be sought after 10 years later. The design is a little hard core but they come in all styles. Sandal, kitten heel, pump, and flat. Everyone was in mind when this shoe was designed. The colorway is vast and you can wear them year round.
